Gerald Thompson
Gerald graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in Agriculture in 1983 and began farming with his father, Don Thompson, in 1984. Gerald has been very active in the agriculture industry, serving on the McLean County Farm Bureau Board and representing District 7 on the Illinois Farm Bureau/COUNTRY Financial Board of Directors for ten years (2000-2010). Gerald currently serves as a member of the McLean County Board and an Elder at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bloomington, Ill. He also has his private pilot’s license and enjoys flying for fun, to check farm fields, and to visit his children.
Gerald and his wife, Jayme were married in 1983 and have three children, Tyler, Reid, and Amanda.
Reid Thompson
Reid graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in Agricultural Consumer Economics in 2010. Prior to joining Thompson Family Farm full-time in 2019, Reid was employed as a farm manager, farm real estate broker, and auctioneer with Hertz Farm Management in Monticello, Ill. for nine years. He also served on the Illinois Farm Bureau Young Leaders Committee from 2014-2018. He currently serves as a director on the McLean County Farm Bureau Board. He leads TFF’s trials with technology and regenerative agricultural practices, including strip tillage and cover crops.
Reid and his wife, Heather were married in 2012 and have two sons, Abe and Hank.
